What is the purpose in your life?
If you don’t know the answer to this question, you better start searching for the answer because that’s what determines the level of fulfillment in your life. If your answer aligns with what you do day to day then you are on the right path, but if it doesn’t, then you must identify how to find the meaning in what you do or vice versa.
One day you might wake up feeling you have wasted your entire life and it’s now too late to start living a life that is meaningful to you. Even worse than that is when you are afraid to ask what the purpose of your life is. You would rather concede to not ever knowing what your purpose in this life is because it would hurt more to find that purpose that could potentially force you to take actions that may take you out of your comfort zone.
Shift your mindset and understand that we are not in this world to just survive, but we are here to thrive. It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are or what your limits are; any mental blockages are all but stories that you’ve created in your mind. You must get over your limiting beliefs and stories to begin developing the hunger to grow in the field of your passion.
We all have the hunger to grow, but for some of us this hunger has been asleep for a while. Some people have faced so many difficulties and trauma in their past that they have finally given up and have let their past drive who they are today. If you are in this category, you must get back up on your feet and start raising your standards for yourself because you don’t want to have the pain of regret in the future.
The reason people don’t live up to their potential is because they’ve always lived in fear. Fear of failing, fear of being wrong, fear of not being enough, and fear of not being loved. It’s human nature to protect themselves from getting hurt. Therefore, most of the time fear overrules the decisions we would want to make for our future. Therefore, we tolerate lower standards that we’ve set for ourselves. Once you stop tolerating lower standards in your life, then it’s the beginning of a breakthrough.
Whatever we can dream about, we can have. Can you think of a time in your life when you wanted something so bad and you thought it was impossible to have such a thing? Then a few years later you have that impossible job, or your dream house. I am here to tell you that you are the creator of your life and you can thrive in your life, as long as you dare to ask yourself what is the purpose of your life, and what are the steps you can take to get closer to that purpose.
